Need a sleek lightweight single axel trailer that has a beefed up frame for off road camping?
The 2021 Apex Tera 15T by Coachmen is definitely worth considering if you’re an off grid/boondock camper or if you need a small towable travel trailer that’s a little stouter than the rest.
It’s a lightweight trailer with a Gross Vehicle Weight of 3,500 pounds that can be easily towed by a small truck or SUV.

WORTHY CONSIDERATIONS: PROS…
Gross Vehicle Weight fully loaded, 3,500 pounds. It is light.
The Exterior…
Power awning makes getting in the shade or getting out of the rain or light snow a snap.
Exterior speakers to enjoy your music or talk radio shows outside.
Through storage.
Gutters/water diverters to keep the water and the sludge formed from runoff from building up over time.
Exterior wash hose/shower is close to the main entry.
It has a small low maintenance outdoor kitchen that comes with a nice 2 burner camp stove. The stove is a two burner that runs off of the trailer’s propane tanks. Added, the outdoor kitchen comes with extra storage for food and items you’ll need for enjoying your meals in the great outdoors.
Solid step entry (2 steps).
The Interior…
A very simple galley. A simple and sturdy two burner stove complimented with a microwave oven. With the small stove and the small sink, it leaves sufficient counter space to work on.
The sofa folds down into the main bed. This bed can easily sleep two adults.
Two bunks for sleeping family, guests and maybe even pets. Or the bunks could easily be used as extra storage.
AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth.
6 Cubic foot refrigerator.
Air conditioning.
The bathroom is small yet it’s totally adequate bathroom with a small bath and shower. The vent of courses does it’s venting job while the skylight above the shower and tub lets in the natural light.
WORTHY CONSIDERATIONS: POSSIBLE CONS…
900 pound cargo capacity. When you factor in the weight of fresh water and the weight of fully loaded propane tanks, it’s a factor that chips away at how much personal cargo you can carry inside the trailer.
The Exterior…
Sitting higher off of the road and with off truck tires, this trailer is designed for off road enthusiasts in mind. If off grid/road camping isn’t your thing, them perhaps another travel trailer that sits lower to the ground may be worth considering.
You may not have bikes for the bike rack that comes with this model.
All Apex Tera 15t’s, as far as I researched, are not equipped with a power tongue jack. Though it is a lighter trailer you will have to still put some effort with hand cranking the standard tongue jack.
The Interior…
Dining…Coachmen on this model opted for a couch that folds down into a bed as opposed to a traditional dining table that folds down into a bed. Added the Apex Tera 15T is not equipped with a dining table. If you want to dine, this requires you to bring along your own folding tables.
To save on weight, most storage compartments do not have doors; only holding in your items with nylon cargo nets.
IN CLOSING
It’s a short, little trailer, lightweight, great quality that could be a good trailer for you if you’re looking for something small, handy and good for boondocking in the great outdoors.
